It was a hot and humid summer afternoon as my family and I made our way across southern Alabama in search of the unknown. We had decided to embark on a journey of exploration, with no known course or end in sight. Along our way to nowhere in particular we stumbled upon a roadside market called BJ Farms. It handily announced itself with a strawberry the size of a small car standing next to the road. Even though the summer was unrelenting in its pursuit of heat people made their way to this source of sustenance. And the bounty that we discovered here was more than worth the energy spent to get there.

This is something a little different for me. My gallery isn’t very diverse and I’m trying to improve on that. I hope that this shot helps to do so. I felt that a close up of a single fruit with a deep background would help to show a little perspective. I was also trying to best capture the color and texture. This was my first attempt utilizing the zone method. I’m not sure that it worked as it is designed to. I think I got the exposure correct, but what about composition? Let me know what you guys and gals think.
